The Merced River runs thru Yosemite Valley near the end is this intimate views of El Capitan. Towering 7,569 feet above sea level and 3,593 feet 1.5-mile-wide above the Yosemite Valley floor, El Capitan is ranked among the 5 largest granite monoliths in the world. It is 2.5 times as tall as the Empire State Building, or more than 3 times as high as the tip of the Eiffel Tower.
