To capture this image of Vernal Falls (317 feet) I followed Mist Trail, a steep granite stairway of over 600 steps. About half way up I shot this image. In the National Park Service description of the fall hikers are warned to prepare for slippery footing and a tremendous amount of waterfall spray in spring and early summer. When I was there it was slippery with only a moderate amount of spray. Hikers are also told they may see a rainbow in the spray of the fall. If you look in the lower lift corner of the image there is a rainbow. A day of mystery and magic.
